Historic Events that had the audacity to occur on this date

Well, there was a pretty short death list today, but it looks like I am gonna make up for it on the events list. This is one insanely busy date in history. I'm gonna be typing half the night. Since the list of deaths was so short, presumably people didn't DIE in any of these historic events:)
